Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an distinguished chair in psychology at the University of California Davis and is also the Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acknowledged as a pioneer in the field of witness testimony by children and the eyewitness memory in the context of legal proceedings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer, received many grants and was awarded numerous national and international awards. She has worked with many authorities and organisations across the world on policy and research pertaining to the child victimization of the legal system. She has been a consultant with the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center that was formerly known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. Professor Goodman is a member in a variety of professional organizations, like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She also is a founding members of the American professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was President of the American Psychological Association's three divisions which included Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Child and Family Policies and Practice.
